Summary:

The court may compel disclosure of information a domestic violence counselor received from a victim if it is relevant evidence to criminal proceeding pertaining to an alleged crime against the victim and its probative value outweighs potential prejudice to the victim. When deciding a claim of privilege, the court may require in chambers disclosure of the information. If the court decides the information must not be disclosed, then no person present in the judge's chambers may disclose the privileged information without consent.

Any health practitioner employed in a health facility clinic, physician's office, local or state public health department, clinic or other type of public health facility, who reasonably suspects that a person is suffering from injury by firearm, assaultive or abusive conduct, shall make a report to local law enforcement agency by telephone and a written report including the health practitioner's findings.
