Criminal penalty for violation : violation of statutes concerning confidentiality of alcohol and drug abuse patient records results in a maximum $500 fine for the first offense and a maximum $5000 fine for each subsequent offense
All personal information and records obtained by the county for its alcohol and drug programs are confidential and may be disclosed only in instances outlined in Welf. & Inst. Code 5328. Violations will be subject to penalties.
