In the event of the demise of a person afflicted with the reportable disease or condition, the coroner or county health officer shall notify the funeral director charged with removing the decedent from the coroner's office of the reportable disease.
A listing of patient names shall accompany a physician and surgeon's submission to Emergency Medical Services Fund, and those names shall be given full confidentiality protections by the administering agency.
In the event of a clinical or professional disagreement regarding the release of a person subject to the detention, the detention shall be maintained unless the hospital's medical director overrules the decision of the physician and surgeon opposing the release. Both the physician and surgeon and the clinical psychologist shall enter their findings, concerns, or objections in the person's medical record. Persons detained under this section shall retain their legal rights regarding consent for medical treatment.
All prehospital emergency medical care personnel who have been exposed to a person afflicted with a disease or condition listed as reportable shall be notified that they have been exposed to the disease and should contact the county health officer.
In the event of the demise of a person afflicted with the reportable disease or condition, the health facility or county health officer shall notify the funeral director charged with removing the decedent from the health facility of the reportable disease.
The county health officer shall immediately notify the prehospital emergency medical care person who has been exposed to a person afflicted with a disease or condition listed as reportable, upon receiving the report from a health facility. The county health officer shall not disclose the name of the patient or other identifying characteristics to the prehospital emergency medical care person.
