Title 1. General

The Department of Managed Health Care may require fingerprint images and associated information from a prospective employee whose duties would include access to medical information; employees of contractors reviewing medical information shall be subject to criminal record background checks.

In applying for participation in program providing name and address confidentiality for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, or stalking, the victim may be required to provide medical information about alleged assaults or violence.

The provision creates a program for protecting the confidentiality of the addresses of users of reproductive health services.

The section prohibits the publication on the Internet of private information of individuals attempting to use reproductive health services.

The Public Records Act does not require the disclosure of records of health care plans covered by the Knox-Keene Act.

The Public Records Act does not require the disclosure of medical or similar files, when that disclosure would constitute an unwarranted invasion of personal privacy.

Records and information not required to be disclosed under Government Code 6254(k) may include provisions in Government Code 6276.
