The Department of Managed Health Care may require fingerprint images and associated information from a prospective employee whose duties would include access to medical information; employees of contractors reviewing medical information shall be subject to criminal record background checks.
In applying for participation in program providing name and address confidentiality for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, or stalking, the victim may be required to provide medical information about alleged assaults or violence.
The Public Records Act does not require the disclosure of medical or similar files, when that disclosure would constitute an unwarranted invasion of personal privacy.
